Meet the July 2019 Student of the Month
Virtual Student: Faron Nelson
Faron is a senior from Glen Elder, Kansas taking Leadership classes and working towards a degree in Marketing. His current job at Pestinger Distributing Company involves making event advertisements in the sign shop, which allows him to work closely in different community events across North Central and North Western Kansas. Faron has always admired those in leadership positions. Still, as he has gotten older, he has realized the “importance of the people who are dedicated to making positive change and the power that can be harnessed by bringing people together.” He hopes to continue to grow as a leader and share his passion for the things he cares about, inspiring others along the way. Faron’s favorite class has been Introduction to Leadership Concepts because it gave him a new perspective on the progression of leadership in society and how everybody can contribute to leadership, even if they are not in the leadership position themselves. His most significant takeaway is that you should not underestimate your power to motivate others; you should always push them toward greatness. Outside of school, Faron enjoys visiting Waconda Lake, traveling (he’s seen 41 states), trying new things, and spending time with his wife and Welsh Terrier dog, Buddy. Congratulations, Faron!
